New Kia EV6 Keene NH
An overview of the 2023 Kia EV6
The EV6 from Kia is an electric vehicle that comes with Kia's outstanding warranty and is available at Fairfield Kia in Keene, NH. The EV6 doesn't yet have a J.D. Power predicted reliability rating and as a brand-new model, the long-term dependability will be established over time. The vehicle does, however, have a better driving range than some EVs. It also has the kind of premium interior that Kia is becoming known for.
Power sources
The 2023 Kia EV6 begins with a 58-kWh battery and an electric motor that generates a fairly basic 167 horsepower, running with standard rear-wheel drive. In higher trims there's a 77.4-kWh battery that also comes with rear-wheel drive and 225 horsepower. In addition, you can add a second motor and you'd be getting 320 horsepower along with all-wheel drive. A base engine zero-to-60 run requires about 8 seconds to complete.
Driving range
As with most electric vehicles, it's important to understand that the driving range for the new Kia EV6 is less than what you've come to expect with gasoline-powered vehicles. Having said that, the Kia EV6 offers up to 310 miles of range if you are willing invest more in the bigger 77.4-kWh battery. However, adding all-wheel drive drops the range to 274 miles and with the base 58kWh battery, range is reduced somewhat further to 232 miles.
Battery charging time
As with other electric vehicles, the Kia EV6 is not the "quick fill-up" of a gas-powered vehicle and requires a substantial amount of time to get fully-charged. Owners would need to install a 240-volt outlet at home and once they do, the 77-kWh battery needs about seven hours to charge completely. The 58-kWh battery can be fully-charged in about six hours. If you can locate a DC fast-charging station you can get a faster partial charge.
Towing capacity
Towing is possible in the Kia EV6 but only with the larger battery. If you make the extra investment in the 77.4-kWh battery that's available with the Wind, GT-Line and First Edition trims, you can tow up to 2,300 pounds. The base-level EV6 Light, however, is not rated to tow a trailer so customers in Brattleboro and Dover, VT who regard towing as an important objective will want to keep that in mind.
Interior
Inside the cabin, the new EV6 emphasizes sleek design and may have a bit of a learning curve in terms of operational functionality. Graphics have been described as "crisp and in vogue" as the EV6 dispenses with the relative simplicity of more intuitive buttons and knobs. Instead the system relies on touchscreen tech with a large 12.3-inch display included as standard equipment along with a six-speaker stereo.
Infotainment
Smartphone integration is provided at the base level and so is wireless charging for your devices, plus satellite radio, HD radio and Bluetooth. A 12.3-inch digital instrument display is standard and so is push-button start, keyless entry, a Wi-Fi hotspot and automatic climate control. While the base stereo is six speakers, there's a 14-speaker system as an available upgrade. You can invite extra sunshine inside with the available sunroof.
Safety
The Kia EV6 for 2023 comes with many standard safety features. First and foremost is a rearview camera that makes backing up the EV6 safer and more convenient. High beams will dim automatically when this car is approaching another vehicle at night.
